This Job Alike Workshop is an opportunity for you to share good practice and co-construct new knowledge on Secondary Mathematics with other FOBISSEA teachers across the region. All participants will be actively involved in the planning of the agenda and will be provided with opportunities to contribute. All sessions will be led or facilitated by the participants.
We want to make the sessions as practical and as useful as possible, therefore, we have planned in a number of sessions where the sharing ideas and resources can take place. Please let me know what topics you would like to be added to those suggested above and would be happy to facilitate.
During the two days there will be some discussion prompts and facilitated sessions as well as opportunities to share ‘challenges’ you may be experiencing in your own schools. Some of the sessions will be cover Key Stage 3, IGCSE, A level and IB specific topics.
Proposed topics – Use of Autograph/Geogebra; Use of a VLE to support Maths learning; Inquiry Based learning in Maths; IB Explorations at Standard & Higher level; Teaching Mechanics to non-Physics students;
In order to establish the content of these workshops please complete the registration form with the areas that you would like to see covered; either as a presenter or a delegate. Teaching Assistant Conference – KL, Malaysia, 4th-5th October 2013

The first ever Fobissea TA Conference will be held this October in Kuala Lumpur.

Eva Cartwright, Principal of The Teaching Assistant College UK and author of the e-book, The 7 Secrets to becoming a great TA’!

Teaching Assistants are an integral part of any forward thinking, child-centered, Primary School Classroom. FOBISSEA Conference is the perfect opportunity for them to learn about the possibilities of their role and share great practice.

Included is for a list of suggested workshops. TAs should sign their name next to workshops that they would be interested in attending. For this event to be a success, we hope that TAs from different schools will also be willing to lead one of these meetings.

Registration Deadline: 5th July 2013
Registration Fee: RM150 per delegate
Host: Garden International School, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This will include:
• Access to all workshops and 2 hour Key Note Speaker presentation and workshop with Eva Cartwright, Principal of Teaching Assistant College, UK
• Lunch and refreshments on both days of the Conference
• Transfers to and from the Royal Bintang hotel, Damansara to GIS

Optional extras:
• A delegates meal on Friday 4th October 2013 – RM50 per person
