BAIYOKE AERIAL VIEWYear 7 Geography Educational Visit to the Baiyoke II Tower

The Geography Department is organising an educational field trip to the Baiyoke II Tower. There are two dates for the trip, so please check carefully which day you are going.

 7HH and 7MW will visit on  Monday 11th March 2013 (DAY 4) from 9.00 am.-12.15 pm.

7AC, 7EJ and 7PD will visit on  Wednesday 13th March 2013 (DAY 6) from 9.00 am.-12.15 pm.

As part of Geography lessons in Year 7 our students are taught to interpret aerial photographs. Looking at a city ‘from above’ is an important aspect of this study. We are using the opportunity, therefore, to visit the highest point in Bangkok – the Baiyoke Tower II- to get a panoramic view of the city. The experience of the trip will help with the follow-up work carried out back in the classroom at school.

We will spend the first part of the morning on the public observatory on the 77th floor of the Tower, where the students will sketch the city skyline from a window. This will be followed by an activity which involves taking aerial photographs from the revolving roof deck on the 84th floor. Safety is always our first priority and all our students will be supervised by staff at all times during the visit.

The full price of the trip is 300 Baht. This includes transport and an entrance fee. We need to receive the payment by Monday 4thMarch in order to reserve your child a place on the trip. Please make your payment directly to the Accounts Department.
