In 1972, Jimmy Cliff wrote a song entitled ‘I can see clearly now’. Jimmy could see because the rain had gone, on Feb 12th 2013 SHB ski trip could see once the white out lifted. Parents please don’t worry, because once the clouds lifted we had a bright bright sunshiney day! What we are trying to say here, is that the weather was somewhat changeable today. First thing saw bright blue skies, mid-morning the cloud rolled in (Stratus for those of you Geographically minded), then after lunch we lurched from 5 metres of visibility, to panoramic vistas across the Alps. One thing that remained consistent was the beautifully fluffy soft powder snow which caressed our groups limbs and faces when they threw themselves ground wards, mid parallel turn.

All of the skiing and snowboarding groups saw rapid progression today. Beginners groups had their first experiences of high alpine skiing, and the more experienced amongst us enjoyed the deep fresh new snow which has been coming down in buckets since our arrival on Saturday. The weather is set to change tomorrow, rumours are abound that the sun will be making a welcome appearance, let’s all keep our fingers crossed.

Celebrity spot of the day? Frankie Dettori enjoying the slopes of Verbier. Apparently we narrowly missed Kevin Spacey who was here last week…
