Happy New Year!
We are very excited about our first weekly review of 2018. We hope you all had a lovely holiday.
This week we have been getting stuck in to our new topic – Africa!
We began the week by watching life in an African savannah with David Attenborough on Planet Earth. This really gave us an insight into what the African savannah is like.
In Literacy we have been looking at animal poems and learning to recite some by heart – I am sure we will be able to share these with you at home. Next week we will start to write our own!
In Maths we have been describing position and direction using the correct vocabulary. Perhaps you can practise this at home by asking the children to put things in certain places e.g. put your bag UNDER
the table etc.
Thank you all for attending the Parent Teacher Conferences this week. It was great to meet with you all and talk about how brilliantly the children are doing.
Just a reminder that from Monday, all Y1 children will have Thai during L6 Monday – Thursday. This will mean that the Thai teacher will dismiss the children at the end of the day. If you have any questions for the class teacher, please write this in the communication book or pass it on through the Thai teacher.
Have a great weekend!
