Dear Parents,
It has been such a fun-filled week, this week.
In Maths we have been continuing our work on making groups of amounts and generating pictorial representations. We then moved on to writing repeated addition number sentences. This helped us practice our counting in multiples of 2, 5 and 10 that we learnt last week.
In Science, our work on materials has continued and this week we all went on a hunt for different materials around the school and then made a pic-collage. Ask us at home about the materials we know.
As you know we have been celebrating ‘Fully Booked Week’ and have been fully immersing ourselves in reading.
We kicked off the week with a look on the balcony where we found a very mysterious looking spaceship and some peculiar yellow creatures. We had to make predictions about what had happened and then we were introduced to our new story book- Beegu. After listening to the story, we wrote sentences describing our favourite part.
We have been thinking and talking about Beegu’s feelings, thoughts and actions throughout the story. We are all enjoying it so far.
On Wednesday, we had some visitors from Year 6 join us for some reading. We shared our favourite books with them and then they read some wonderful stories to us too. It was a lovely experience.
Finally, on Friday we had our super dress up day and all of the children and staff looked amazing in their alien costumes. Thank you for coming to watch us in our parade, it was great to see so many of you there. Later on in the day, we had a special assembly all about book week and we got to see the best dressed from each year group. Congratulations to the winners.
