This week the children have been busy rehearsing their scenes for our Year 1 show. They have a lot of lines to remember and songs to learn. Thank you for the fantastic support you have given your children so far.
In Literacy, we read the story of Percy the Park Keeper by Nick Butterworth to kick start our writing. The children then wrote down their ideas for how to help the animals who have lost their home in the storm. We also learnt about the features of letter writing.
In Maths, we have been learning about place value. The children have been partitioning two digit numbers into tens and ones using base ten resources. They have been using a place value grid to make different numbers and comparing them using the greater and less than signs.
In Science, we have been learning about which plants are native to Thailand. The children observed them and incorporated them into a garden scene drawing.
In Art, we have learnt about the famous artist Vincent Van Gough. We looked at some of his famous sunflower paintings and drew our own sunflower pictures using sketching and shading skills.
In Topic, we have learnt about aerial photos and found out about human and physical features of landscapes.
On Friday the children enjoyed wearing yellow for the celebration ceremony to commemorate the coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a lovely long weekend and see you back in school on Tuesday 7th May.
