Weekly Review Thursday 12th October 2017
What a busy week we have had in Year 2.
The children have continued and completed their Pirate stories this week. The children had lots of challenging fun changing the characters and the setting from our class story of Pirate Pete. Over the last few weeks they children have had the opportunity to learn about story features such as the beginning middle and end. We looked at problems and solutions within our story and adapted it to make up a new one. The children have also learnt about punctuation including capital letters, full stops, commas and speech marks.
During Numeracy lessons we have continued work with 2D shapes. We have also learnt about shape properties such as corners, sides and finding lines of symmetry. The children had fun sorting shapes using a Venn diagram and describing how and why they had sorted them.
During Guided Reading the children have read well in their groups and also completed independent activities to compliment their books.
Have a great weekend.
The Year 2 Team.
