Year 2 have had another busy week learning about Kings and Queens. The week began with a brilliant trip to the cinema to watch The Kid who would be King. The children behaved brilliantly and enjoyed watching the film and eating popcorn!
They have worked hard to design and start to make a coat of arms. They thought carefully about a design which would reflect themselves and learnt how to do a running stitch. They have demonstrated great resilience and kindness, helping their friends when they faced a challenge.
In Literacy the children have continued to enjoy reading the story the Princess and the White Bear King. They finally found out the ending and have been busy story mapping the beginning, middle and end of the story ready to write their stories next week. They thought of interesting questions to ask the Troll Queen and were amazed when she made a surprise visit to our assembly! They asked some super questions to find out more information about her!
In Maths Year 2 have started to learn about 2D shapes; naming them and recognising them in their local environment. They described their properties using the correct terminology and have started to solve problems involving shapes.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Banquet on Thursday 4th April at 1:30pm. Please take a seat in the Pre-Prep canteen and the children will serve you some delicious food they have made! Children need to bring in an apron to wear please.
Many thanks for your continued support. We hope you have a great weekend.
