Weekly Review – Friday 1st December

Happy 1st December everyone! It has been a hectic week here in Year 3 as we continue working hard in each lesson as the year draws to a close.

In Literacy, we have started looking at letters. The children received an interesting letter from Ms Weston., informing us that break time had been cancelled! Fortunately this did not turn out to be true, but have been learning persuasive language and the importance of having balance in a discussion. The children also took part in an interesting debate about ‘whether the gladiator games were a good idea’. It was interesting to hear from both sides!

In Numeracy, we have continued learning about Time. We have continued to practice telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes on an analogue clock, as well as looking at digital time and learning how to estimate how many activities they can do in a minute. After that, checking to see how close they were!

In Art, the children made some fantastic mosaic tiles using repeated patterns. Some children have started to make a colour wheel too in the form of a collage.

In Science, we have learnt about the properties of rocks. Children studied different kinds, touching, describing and drawing them and thinking about their texture, appearance and appearance.

In ICT – The children have continued to make their own power point presentations about different aspects of Roman life. They are personalising their own presentations using information  that they have researched themselves.
