It has been another week full of great learning and we have been pleased that we could share it with the CIS inspectorate team and also have a Celebration Assembly to acknowledge children’s achievements in Year 3.

This week the children have continued their learning based around ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ story and the topic Super South America. we have been impressed how you have embraced this topic and produced such excellent pieces of home learning.

In Literacy, we have been learning about the art of persuasion and the different techniques and vocabulary used to persuade. Be careful, they may start using these tricks to get just what they want at home!

In Maths, we have moved on to the topic, ‘Time’’. The children have learnt about different time periods, such as a year, month etc and have been able to explain how long these are. They have developed their understanding and are practising reading the time to the nearest 5 minutes. Any practice you can do of this at home, will greatly support the work we are doing in class.

In Science, the children have continued learning about plants, their parts and the function of each. They have also been looking into the ideal conditions for plants to grow.

In Art, the children took inspiration from from traditional South American patterns. They practised creating their own and then transferred these to a piece of fabric.

In Topic, the children have been investigating the different environmental regions of South America and are starting to recognise the different biomes and the climatic differences of these areas.

We hope you have a restful weekend!
