Dear Parents,

We hope you had a super half term break with your children.  It is lovely to see everybody back at School and refreshed from their holidays.  This is our final term in Year 3 and we are looking forward to an exciting and busy term ahead.

In Literacy, we have worked very hard to make persuasive brochures to encourage people to visit various South American countries.  We made sure we followed our checklists carefully to ensure we included all the relevant features of persuasive writing.  Some examples of the brochures will be displayed outside of the Year 3 classrooms so please come and look at our fabulous writing!  We will be learning about instructional texts this term.

In Maths, we have been solving problems involving time.  We used addition and subtraction calculation strategies to help us solve these problems.  We also used our knowledge of the five times table to help us. We are beginning our new unit of work on Multiplication and Division.

In Topic, we have introduced our new theme of ‘Inspiring Inventors.’ We have developed our understanding of chronological order and timelines.

In Science, we have continued our work on water transport in plants. We have generated questions and planned an investigation.

In Art, we have begun to look at the work of the inventor and artist Leonardo Da Vinci.

Dates to be aware of:

Friday 3rd May: Wear a yellow top as a sign of respect to our King.

We hope you have a relaxing weekend.
