The end of the term has been action packed for Year 4 with children enjoying a water based PE lesson on Monday to celebrate Songkran, then a visit to the Science museum and the Fun Run on Thursday. Friday, not surprisingly seemed a little bit subdued however students still enjoyed a celebration assembly from Mr Seal.

In Literacy this week we put the finishing touches to our adventure stories by publishing them. The stories have allowed the children to explore in greater depth sentence structure and deepen their vocabulary. We look forward to next term where our Literacy will be linked to Peace Child.

In Numeracy, we concluded our studies about measurement with some engaging problem solving activities. This topic allowed us to consolidate our understanding of multiplying and dividing numbers by 10, 100 and 1000 when we learnt formulas for conversions. Next term we will return to problem solving with shape.

In Humanities, our topic The Egyptians ended with a crafty trick or truth game which helped us compare Ancient Egyptian customs with those of today. In Science, we shared our learning with other classes regarding how to maintain a good standard of oral hygiene; when brushing remember the rule of two ‘twice a day and for two minutes.’ During Art, the topic ended with our students learning about the Rosetta Stone and then using their printing blocks to create their very own version.

An excellent term over, we hope all children and parents enjoy their holidays and Thai new year. We look forward to seeing you all in two weeks.
