We have had another busy week in Year 5 and I am so impressed with the way the children have taken each challenge on board.

We began with a very mature discussion about the Shrewsbury Food Drive and the children showed a great deal of empathy and understanding.  Most importantly, they were very generous with the food they brought in to help others.

During maths lessons, we have begun to round numbers up to 10,000, which is not easy!  A big part of maths is trial and error and the children persevered, even when they found questions taxing.

In our English lessons, we have been looking at character description, along with an exciting drama lesson focusing upon a Roald Dahl poem.  We are going to perform our poem to Year 1 on Monday – so please check our blog next week to see the pictures!

Finally, our topic lesson this week has been based around the timeline of Ancient Greece.  Children used the iPads to research key events and improve their understanding of the order in which events occurred.
