We would like to invite all those with an interest in formative assessment to attend our ‘Assessment for Learning JAWs’. This workshop is an opportunity for both primary and secondary teachers to network with other FOBISIA members, to share good practice and to co-construct new knowledge.
All participants will be actively involved in planning the agenda and facilitating the sessions. Our intention is to use Dylan Wiliam’s five key strategies of formative assessment to help structure the two days. We will also spend some time discussing the changing role of assessment within the new National Curriculum.

Senior Leaders with responsibility for Sixth Form provision and aspiring Sixth Form leaders are invited to participate in an “Outstanding Sixth Form” JAWS. Colleagues are asked to share effective practice and explore some of the issues arising from our position in Asia.
The workshop will be hosted at the new Kellett School Kowloon Bay campus in Hong Kong. The campus is the purpose built home for the Kellett Senior School and is a ground breaking design for city campus schools.

NB Attendance at the two day workshop prior to this event is not required.

This Job Alike Workshop is an opportunity for you to share good practice and co-construct new knowledge on Secondary Geography with other FOBISIA teachers across the region. All participants will be actively involved in the planning of the agenda and will be provided with opportunities to contribute. All sessions will be led or facilitated by the participants.

Please let me know what topics you would like to be added to those suggested below in the Survey Monkey form, linked below. Is anyone able to facilitate any of these sessions? There will be opportunities to share ‘challenges’ you may be experiencing in your own schools. Some of the sessions will be cover Key Stage 3, IGCSE, A level and IB specific topics. The itinerary plans to spend the first day in the rainforest for discussions on fieldwork and techniques. This trip will leave at 6.30am on Friday. Please bear this in mind when booking incoming flights.

We would like to invite all Heads of Year, Heads of department, subject leaders and other responsibility holders to join us in Beijing, for Job alike Workshops on the subject of Middle leadership. This JaWs is aimed at primary or secondary colleagues who would like to share good practice and discuss new ideas. The agenda will be decided based on delegate feedback. Topics might include areas such as Team Building, implementing & Managing systems and Coaching & Mentoring. We might also consider how we can handle all these leadership responsibilities whilst simultaneously working in the classroom.

Costs will include transport between hotel and school and lunches.
