BSM is delighted to host… Mr Paul Ginnis
Saturday 7th March 2015 (8.30am – 2.30pm)
(Fee: 3000 PHP)
Mr Paul Ginnis will be working alongside our teachers over 10 days week commencing the 2nd March. However, he has agreed to deliver a stand-alone workshop on Saturday 7th November for other schools to attend. We would love you to join us…
‘Paul is one of UK education’s longest-established freelance trainers. Since beginning his independent career in 1992, he has provided consultancies, courses and training days for over 3000 primary, secondary and special schools and a number of FE colleges. Paul specialises in pragmatic approaches to modern ideas. All his work is rooted in chalk-face teaching in a great variety of schools. Using key theoretical and ideological perspectives to illuminate practice, Paul helps teachers to create learning strategies that achieve very good test and examination results … and much more besides. Paul is aligned with those educationalists and politicians who recognise that in this day and age ‘results’ are not enough; students need to develop, from the earliest age onwards, crucial learning skills and dispositions that enable them to become sociable, independent, responsible, life-long learners who can determine their own lives, maintain healthy relationships and contribute positively to their local and national societies. The idea of building students’ capacity to live and learn is central to his current work.’ (http://www.ginnis.eu)
During the workshop Paul will be covering a number of pedagogical themes, such as constructivist/active learning, skills-rich learning, enquiry/inquiry, assessment for learning, resources independent learning, peer teaching and metacognition.
