Congratulations to the 10 swimmers selected as part of our first ever SEASAC 12 & Under Swimming Team.
The team will be competing in Singapore at OCBC Aquatic Centre, the home of the 2015 SEA Games and 2016 FINA Swimming World Cup.
The competition is a two day meet held between 3rd – 4th March, they will be swimming against the very best swimming schools in the South East Asian region. The swimmers will each be competing in six individual events and up to four relays. The events include:
200 Individual Medley
400m Freestyle
200m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke,
100m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly
50m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly
4 x 100m Freestyle Relay
4 x 100m Medley Relay
4 x 50m Freestyle Relay
4 x 50m Medley Relay
The team will be training exceptionally hard at school over the next four weeks, working particularly hard on their relay take overs in an attempt to score as many points as possible for the school.
This meet will be an excellent development opportunity for these swimmers to learn many new skills associated with both a two day meet and also an overseas meet.
Next year we hope to be invited to bring swimmers from all three age groups (12 and under, 13-14, 15 and over), training for this will begin in term 3 with the team selected early in Term 1 2017/2018.
I am sure you will join me in wishing these swimmers the very best of luck at the meet.
