Dear Parents

Please see the message below from the Parents Association for the upcoming bake sale which is focused on the Swim Team:

SP will be hosting a Swim Snack Sale on Thursday the 23rd of March.

We are requesting SHB Swim Team parents who would like to be involved in contributing to this particular snack sale to participate in one or both of the following ways:

  • bring along home baked goods/snacks (must be NUT free and not using skewers or sticks). Please drop off at the snack sale table at 2pm on the day of the sale. Parents may also leave the food items at reception (only snack sale items please) prior to 2pm.

  • parents who would be willing to help during the sale – anytime between 2 and 4pm. Please do consider volunteering.

Proceeds from the sale go towards supporting the Shrewsbury Swim Team BISAC event.

Thank you in advance for your contributions. Your efforts and support for a successful snack sale are greatly appreciated by the SP Snack Sale Committee and, of course, by the children who look forward to these afternoon treats!

Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us at parents@shrewsbury.in.th

Best regards,
SP Snack Sale Committee

Dear Parents and Swimmers

The entries for BISAC swimming are now displayed on the blue notice board closest to the swimming pool, I have also attached them below. BISAC is a team event, as such entries have been selected based on the highest possible combined team score. If an event has been selected that your swimmer really does not wish to swim, please encourage them to come and speak with Mrs Gill no later than the end of team practice on Friday 17th March.

For Junior swimmers we have been able to enter a B relay team for most age groups, this relay gives many swimmers a second or third event to swim, the B relay team however can not score points.

All swimmers are required without exception to wear the Shrewsbury Green and Gold Swim Suit – Khun Monz will be in school next week (confirmed date and time to follow) together with the White Shrewsbury Swim Cap available from the school shop.

A polite reminder that relay practice for the A teams will be exclusively during the remaining morning training sessions (Thursday 16th, Tuesday 21st and Thursday 23rd March 6am – 7.15am) All sessions start promptly at 6am.

Further details for both the Junior Meet (Saturday 25th March @ Shrewsbury) and Senior Meet (Sunday 26th March @ Patana) will follow later this week.

A massive thank you to those parents who have very kindly volunteered to assist at the Junior Meet, if you have not already signed up and wish to, please follow the link here :Parent Helper Sign Up Sheet

Please do not hesitate to speak with either Mrs Gill or Ms Mica regarding any aspects of the swim meet.

Kindest Regards

Mrs Gill

Dear Parents and Swimmers

Shrewsbury International School will be hosting the 2017 BISAC Junior Swimming Championships on Saturday March 25th. As you will have no doubt seen, many of the swim meets we attend at other schools both within Bangkok and Internationally are supported by the parents of the swimmers. If you would like be part of the team supporting the swim meet please sign up for a job on the Google sheet here:

Parent Sign Up Sheet

All jobs last between 1 1/2 to 2 hours, however please feel free to sign for longer should you wish. Each job provides an opportunity to see your son or daughter swim and to be at the heart of the meet. We would also welcome any help from parents of swimmers who have not been selected for the team this year or who may be in the senior meet the following day. Seniors are also welcome to assist and share their knowledge and expertise with the children.

Assisting at the meet, will provide you with a greater understanding of how a swim meet operates, which you can share with your swimmer. You presence will also help to grow our team spirit which in turn will help to make Shrewsbury a more successful team.

We would very much like all parents to show their support of the swimmers and of the Shrewsbury Parents Association by wearing a Parent Supporters T-shirt available in the school shop.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. Thank you in advance for your help

Mrs Gill
