For many swimmers this was their first experience at racing longer events  in a 50m pool such as 200m butterfly and 400IM, their determination in these events contributed to the overall success of the team.

While it is easy to measure the success of a team by the number of medals won or points scored, the true success of a team comes in what can not be measured – the team spirit, the willingness to put your team first, going the extra mile for your team, racing an event you feel is not your best event but you know that it will help your team score vital points, and mostly getting out of the water after your race knowing you gave your very best effort.

This weekend I did not see 44 individuals, I saw a team of swimmers working together to motivate and encourage each other. A team going the extra mile together. Swimmers who had never swum in a 50m pool before racing like this was their home pool. I have never been more proud of our team than watching them swim this weekend.
