Huge congratulations to the team of U8 swimmers who travelled to Bangkok Patana on last Saturday to compete in the Tiger Prawns swim meet.

All swimmers competed over 25m in all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly). All swimmers should be exceptionally proud of their achievements during the morning.

Times which are shown as – are an improvement (a new personal best). There were 66 personal best times recorded from 78 swims this is a staggering 85% personal best improvement rate. A huge well done to all swimmers.

Dear Parents and Swimmers

Due to the Y3-6 swim carnivals taking place all week there will be no morning sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday this week.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Thanks for your understanding and continual support of the Aquatics Program.

Best Wishes

Mrs Gill

Dear Parents and Swimmers

Many thanks to those swimmers who have informed us that they will be unable to attend tomorrow morning’s timetrials.

Warm up 5.45am

Race 1 6am

Good luck to all swimmers

Aquatics Team

Dear Parents and Swimmers

Sadly, due to the thunder and lightning tonight it was not possible to safely conduct the time trials. I am aware of the pressures on everyone schedules and how difficult it can be to find additional time in the evenings. Therefore in the same manner as the previous early birds swim meets, we will host the time trials on Thursday morning in the morning training session slot – this is a great time as it closely replicates the time when you would normally be competing.

Due to the necessity to leave the pool no later than 7.15am so that all students can make morning registration, trials will begin promptly at 6am with warm up available from 5.45am – should you know that you are unable to attend (due to the start time or for any other reason) please let me know ASAP so that I may remove you from the program and if possible condense the number of heats to reduce the running time of the meet. For all swimmers registered today who are unable to attend and advise me in advance of the session, we are able to use your previously recorded times as entry for the swim meets – please send me an email at victoria.g2@shrewsbury.ac.th

Rescheduling to Thursday morning will enable the ISB and FOBISIA squads to still be announced as planned on Tuesday.

Thank you so much for your understanding and continual support of our fabulous team.

Mrs Gill

Dear Parents and Swimmers

Please see below the meet program for the time trials this evening.

Warm up 2.40pm

Race 1 3pm

Tonight we are trialing a different seeding format with the fastest swimmers swimming in the early heats to give them some additional recovery time between events.

Good Luck all swimmers

Dear Parents and Swimmers

Please see below for the Tiger Prawns Meet Information.

The bus will leave school promptly at 6.45am on Sunday 30th September.

Please assist the coaching team by explaining to your swimmers that this is a FUN development meet and as such the focus of the meet is on technique, in particular: starts, strokes and finishing while also learning how a swim meet operates and most importantly having FUN. Medals are therefore not awarded, all participants will receive an event swimming hat.

All swimmers will require the white team swim hat (available in the school shop) and either their blue PE kit or the team swim suit.
