Dear Parents,

We all think that Year 1 have had the busiest week yet, this week! We have done so much and the children have all worked so hard.

In Literacy, we looked at invitations. We discussed the purpose of an invitation and then identified key features. We thought that it would be a great idea to write our own invitations for our Christmas show next week. We remembered to include the event, date, time and venue. We hope you enjoyed receiving them.

In Numeracy we have been continuing to learn how to read and make times to the hour and half hour and have begun to solve time problems. We used our clocks that we made last week to help us out. Please have a go at asking us to tell the time at home. We think you will be very impressed.

As your children have probably mentioned, we have been practising our Christmas show a lot this week. The children are really enjoying it and it is really coming together now. They have been fantastic and have all worked so hard. All of the classes have collaborated so well and have helped each other to remember their lines and songs. We are all so excited to share our performances with you all. We hope you enjoy it!

To finish off the busy week. We participated in the Year 1 and 2 sports day, on Friday. We all wore our super hero capes and had a blast. The children all loved the events especially; ‘Fire Jumping’, ‘Capture the Villain’ and ‘Rescue Mission’. I think it is safe to say that we all had a ‘super’ morning!

Thank you for all of your support and we look forward to seeing you at our Christmas show next week.
