Dear Parents

Many of our swimmers have been busy over the summer taking part in competitions across both Thailand and South East Asia. Congratulations to everyone who has taken part in a swim meet since the end of last term.

All received results have been added to the swimming database and the updated list of personal best times can be found by following the link on the menu above or following the links directly below; girls are listed first, please scroll through to see the boys personal best times.

If have recently taken part in a swim meet and have not yet provided a copy of your results and would like to see your personal best times updated, please email a copy of your results and details of the swim meet to victoria.g2@shrewsbury.ac.th

Long Course (50m) Personal Best Times September 2014

Short Course (25m) Personal Best Times September 2014

 

Starting next Tuesday morning (16th September) a land training session will be held every Tuesday and Thursday morning in the fitness gym (6.15 – 7.15). This land training session is open to all students in year 6 upwards, students will take part in a variety of skills and practices designed to increase both their aerobic fitness and strength which will be highly beneficial to their swimming.

 

Dear Parents

Khun Monz will be in school on Tuesday from 3pm, he will have team swim suits available for sale along with other swimming items such as goggles and towels.

 

All swimmers who will be competing in the Bangkok Patana Tiger Prawns swim meet will be required to wear the green and gold team swim wear, please note the white swim hat is available for purchase in the school shop.

If you need any new swim wear please drop by the swimming pool from 3pm on Tuesday.

This is a gentle reminder that entries for the Bangkok Patana Tiger Prawns Swim Meet (September 27th) will close on Sunday 7th September. If you have received an invitation to the swim meet and would like to take your place on the team, please confirm your attendance by following the link in the email.

Entries are open to all swimmers in Level 0 and above who will be 8 years and under on Saturday 27th September, if you did not receive an invitation and believe you should have, please do not hesitate to contact me via victoria,g2@shrewsbury.ac.th

Dear All

I hope you had a restful and wonderful holiday and are ready to get back into the pool.

All training starts tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6am for those swimmers in level 3 and above and afterschool for all other swimmers.

This year we welcome Coach Lucy to the coaching team, Lucy has been previously swimming in America where she broke her University record in the 100 yard backstroke. Coach Lucy will be working with all squads and also during PE lessons.

We look forward to seeing you poolside.

How you been inspired this summer by the Commonwealth Games and the Youth Olympics?

Would you like to watch top international level swimmers compete?

The Singapore National Aquatic Centre will be hosting an international swim meet on Friday September 5th. Amongst the 60 swimmers attending, are Olympic and World Champions James Magnussen (Australia), Nathan Adrian (USA), Fabien Gilot (FRA), Vladimir Morozov (RUS), Jeanette Ottesen (DEN), Ruta Meilutyte (Lithuania), Kosuke Kitajima (Japan) and Katinka Hosszu (Hungary).

The swim meet is hosted 7 – 9.30pm on Friday, on Saturday there are coaching sessions for swimmers organised around the city, and for those of you 13 years and over on Sunday an open water swim race, this would make an exciting aquatic weekend away in Singapore with your family.

Please note that this will not be a Shrewsbury International School organised trip.

 

For senior swimmers who take the school bus and will not be able to attend the 4pm swim sessions, there will be two additional training sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays 2.40 – 3.45pm.
