On Thursday May 22nd the swimmers undertook a 200m kick and swim test, where the goal was to equal or better their swim time when kicking.
Congratulations to Win and Nana for recording the fastest 200m Freestyle Kick and Swim times.
Mark C recorded the closest 200m freestyle kick time to his swim time.
Well done to everyone who took part.

The warm up will begin at 8am on Saturday. If you are making your own way directly to Harrow International School please aim to arrive no later than 8am.
If you are taking the school bus, the bus will leave from school at 7.30am prompt.
All swimmers should wear the green and gold swim suit and white swim hat with dark green Shrewsbury (available in the school shop). Swimmers should bring with them sun screen, a hat, t shirt for when they are not swimming and a water bottle to keep hydrated.

It is expected the meet will conclude at 1pm.

All swimmers may swim 3 individual events and 2 relays (the swim coaches will confirm the relay orders on Saturday morning)

Heat winner ribbons and medals for 1st 2nd& 3rd overall.

Dear Swimmers and Parents.
The final swim meet of the year originally scheduled for June 14th has been moved to the week of June 2nd – 5th.
The meet will for the first time use the FINA points system, where swimmers score points for the speed of their swim.
Swimmers will need to attend all three sessions in order to gain maximum points.
Monday June 2nd – Best 50m event & 200m Freestyle (swimmers will swim 50m on all four strokes, with the best result used for their final points total).
Tuesday June 3rd – 100m Form Events (not freestyle)
Thursday 5th June – 100 & 200 IM
Points are awarded using the FINA points system (FINA points rank from 1 – 1100) this system is used worldwide to rank swimmers. An app can be downloaded from the google play store to help you calculate your points: FINA App
To understand more how the points are calculated please follow this link from the FINA website: FINA points calculation. FINA points are automatically calculated by the software program used to operate all swimming meets and can be followed on the Meet Mobile App on your mobile device.

Age will be taken on the last day of this school year – Sunday August 24th.
All squad swimmers will automatically be added to this swim meet, if anyone from the stroke development program wishes to take part, please see Mrs Gill in the sports and activities office before Friday May 30th.
Results from this meet will help to place swimmers into the correct squad in September 2014.

Open to all members of the Shrewsbury Community.
Athletes will compete around the school grounds in the following age groups:
Year 5 & 6 8.30am (200m swim / kick with a kick board, 2 laps of the cycle route and 2 laps of the run route) to see the route, please follow this link: Yr 5 & 6 route

Shrewsbury swimmers have again been invited to attend the annual Harrow International School 2 Fast 2 Furious swim meet on Saturday May 31st. The fun event held over 25m is an ideal way to finish this competitive season.
Swimmers may enter a maximum on 3 individual events and 2 relays.

8 Years
9 Years
10 Years
11-12 Years
13 -14 Years
15 Years +
All swimmers who swim in the squad training sessions (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays) should attend this meet, for those who swim in the stroke development program this is an optional swim meet.
All swimmers who attend this meet will be required to wear the green and gold Shrewsbury Swim Team Kit and white Shrewsbury swim hat, available in the school shop.
